Job summary

LBR Elad Limited in Ireland is seeking compassionate Healthcare Assistants to join our adult disability residential services. You will support adults with complex needs in a safe, respectful setting, helping them participate in daily living, routines and community activities.

Candidates should have a QQI/FETAC Level 5 qualification in Healthcare Support or related field. A full driving licence is desirable but not essential.

Job Description: We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistants to join our adult disability residential services in Galway. The successful candidates will support adults with complex needs in a safe, respectful and empowering residential environment, helping each person to take part in daily routines, community life and activities that reflect their individual interests, abilities and choices.

Main Duties and Responsibilities: The role includes supporting residents with daily living, personal care, meals, routines and community participation; promoting dignity, privacy, independence and personal choice; assisting with person-centred plans, care plans, risk assessments and communication supports; encouraging positive routines, social inclusion and meaningful activity; attending appointments where required; contributing to reviews and meetings; building positive professional relationships with residents, families, colleagues and external professionals; reporting concerns or changes in wellbeing; maintaining accurate records; and following all safeguarding, health and safety, infection prevention, medication management and confidentiality procedures.

Skills and Competencies Required: Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience supporting vulnerable individuals; promote person-centred care, dignity, respect and independence; communicate clearly and professionally; work effectively as part of a team; build positive relationships; remain calm and resilient in a busy care environment; follow policies, procedures and care plans; work independently when required; and use relevant IT systems for records and communication.

Qualifications and Experience Required: Candidates must have a QQI/FETAC Level 5 qualification in Healthcare Support, Social Care or a related field, or an equivalent or higher qualification. Previous experience in healthcare, disability services, residential care or social care is desirable. A full driving licence is desirable but not essential. The successful candidates will be required to complete Garda vetting and any required pre-employment checks before commencement.
