Job summary

Irish Life Group is seeking a specialist Health & Safety Manager to lead and continuously improve the health, safety and welfare framework for ILG within the GWL group companies in Ireland. The role requires acting as the competent person for health and safety, advising the business, developing policies and processes, and coordinating audits and inspections.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Diploma required or equivalent; QQI Level 8 considered
• Formal management qualification in health & safety required
• NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate required
• CMIOSH or IIRSM desirable
• Auditing/quality/environmental/construction safety qualifications desirable
• Competent person for health and safety must be fulfilled

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and oversee HSE framework, policies, and procedures within the group framework.
• Act as the competent person for health and safety across a complex business.
• Ensure compliance with Irish health and safety legislation through audits and risk-based controls.
• Maintain risk profiles, safety statements, and related documentation; manage fire safety plans.
• Lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions; support continuous improvement.
