Job summary

Global Professional Consultants seeks a Health and Safety Officer for a major civil project in Dublin. You will drive compliance, risk assessment, training, inspections and incident investigations across residential and industrial works.

The ideal candidate holds Level 7/8 in Health and Safety with 2–3 years in a construction advisory role and relevant certifications (NEBOSH/IP). A driving licence is required; a laptop and phone are provided to support field activities.

Qualifications

• Level 7/Level 8 Health and Safety preferred; construction sector experience valued.
• 2–3 years in a Health & Safety advisory role within construction.
• NEBOSH or IOSH certifications are highly desirable.
• Proficient in MS Office (Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and documentation tools.
• Full valid driving licence required; laptop and phone provided.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with local and national health and safety regulations and standards.
• Identify hazards, conduct risk assessments, and implement controls.
• Develop and implement site safety policies and procedures.
• Provide safety training, toolbox talks, inductions and workshops.
• Conduct inspections and audits, report findings, and track corrective actions.
• Investigate incidents, analyse root causes, and make prevention recommendations.
• Prepare emergency plans and coordinate drills and communications.
• Liaise with project managers, contractors and authorities on safety matters.
• Maintain records of inspections, incidents, training and audits for management and regulators.
