Job summary

Bon Secours Hospital, Tralee is inviting applications for the position of Health Care Assistant. The post is a 39-hour per week fixed-term contract for two years, based at Strand Street, Tralee, Co. Kerry.

The role involves delivering personal care and supporting patients with daily activities in a compassionate, patient-centred manner. The successful candidate will have Satisfactory acute hospital experience and commit to attaining the FETAC Level 5 Healthcare Assistant qualification within 1–2

Qualifications

• Satisfactory relevant acute hospital experience.
• Commit to attain FETAC Level 5 Healthcare Assistant qualification within 1-2 years of joining the organisation.
• Knowledge in relation to the management of confidential patient information.
• Ability to carry out basic procedures as delegated by and under the direction of registered nursing staff.
• Demonstrates empathetic and caring approach to patients and relatives while maintaining dignity and respect at all times.
• Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Excellent Patient Care Skills.

Job Purpose
