Job summary

Evergreen Talent Group is seeking a Head of Power / Operations Director to lead growth, operations and commercial performance of its high voltage infrastructure business in Ireland.

The role covers end-to-end responsibility for business development, prequalification, tendering, estimating, engineering, procurement, project delivery, quality, EHS and commissioning, with a focus on building multidisciplinary teams and delivering complex HV projects.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in HV electrical contracting, substations, grid connections or power infrastructure.
• Senior leadership experience at Head of Power / Operations Director level or similar.
• Strong track record in business development, tendering and project delivery.
• Proven responsibility for P&L, commercial performance and growth.
• Willingness to travel throughout Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the overall Power business strategy alongside the CEO.
• Lead business development across utilities, data centres, renewable energy, industrial and infrastructure clients.
• Build and manage the opportunity pipeline, key client relationships and strategic partnerships.
• Oversee prequalification, bid strategy, tendering, estimating and contract negotiations.
• Maintain accountability for divisional revenue, margin, cash flow, order book and profitability.
• Lead the delivery of HV projects through Project Directors, Project Managers and site teams.
• Oversee engineering, procurement, planning, commercial, quality, EHS and commissioning functions.

About the Opportunity

A specialist High Voltage Electrical Contractor is seeking an experienced Head of Power / Operations Director to lead the growth, operational delivery and commercial performance of its power infrastructure business.

This is a senior leadership position with end-to-end responsibility across business development, prequalification, tendering, estimating, engineering, procurement, project delivery, commercial management, quality, EHS and commissioning.

The successful candidate will combine strong HV technical knowledge with commercial acumen, operational leadership and a proven ability to build and manage multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the overall Power business strategy alongside the CEO.
• Lead business development across utilities, data centres, renewable energy, industrial and infrastructure clients.
• Build and manage the opportunity pipeline, key client relationships and strategic partnerships.

• Build and develop the leadership team and wider technical capability of the business.
• Maintain senior relationships with clients, utilities, developers, consultants and delivery partners.

Experience & Requirements

• Significant experience within HV electrical contracting, substations, grid connections or power infrastructure.
• Proven senior leadership experience at Head of Power, Operations Director, Business Unit Director, Contracts Director or similar level.
• Strong track record across business development, tendering, estimating and project delivery.
• Demonstrated responsibility for P&L, commercial performance and business growth.
• Strong understanding of HV systems including transformers, switchgear, cabling, protection, control, earthing and commissioning.
• Proven experience managing multidisciplinary engineering, construction and commercial teams.
• Strong understanding of contractual risk, project controls, safety governance and quality requirements.
• Experience dealing with utilities, asset owners, consultants and specialist supply-chain partners.
• Degree or equivalent technical qualification in Electrical / Power Engineering preferred.
• Willingness to travel throughout Ireland.
