Job summary

Sysco Ireland, part of Ireland's largest foodservice provider, is hiring a Head of Operations Systems to lead national inventory, warehouse systems, and cross-functional change projects.

You will manage a 35-strong team, drive strategy in line with group goals, and ensure financial governance while pushing continuous improvement.

This senior role requires a data-driven mindset, stakeholder influence, and a proven track record in delivering complex programs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in operations leadership or equivalent.
• Experience managing budgets and performance targets.

• Experience leading change programs across multiple functions.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for national inventory, warehouse systems optimisation, and supply chain projects.
• Lead the National Inventory team and multiple functions (circa 35 colleagues).
• Manage a portfolio of critical change projects with financial governance.
• Lead, coach and inspire teams with clear strategic direction.
• Establish succession plans and development frameworks.
• Drive two-way communication across departments.
• Define and implement KPIs to monitor performance.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability alignment.
• Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets.

Sysco is the world’s largest foodservice provider and following continued growth and expansion across the Island of Ireland Sysco Ireland are now looking to expand and strengthen our Operations Leadership team by introducing a Head of Operations Systems that will lead impactful projects within the wider function.

The role will also contribute to and execute against our overall strategy and continued expansion, while managing operational plans, budgets and performance targets.

Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership for National Inventory, Warehouse Systems Optimisation, Operations & Supply Chain Projects, and Network Modernisation initiatives across Sysco Ireland

• Overall responsibility of the National Inventory team, Warehouse System planning team, Loss Prevention and Operations & Supply Chain Project functions. Circa 35 colleagues.

• Managing a portfolio of business‑critical change projects across these departments

• Maintain financial governance within budget, driving both Group-level and local operational efficiencies

• Lead, coach, and inspire teams by setting clear strategic direction and aligning individual contributions to organisational goals

• Establish/implement succession plans, incl. employee training and and development frameworks to build future capability.

• Facilitate two‑way Communication Cascade across the teams within the remit of the departments.

• Lead and execute operational strategy in line with overall Group goals

• Define and implement KPIs to monitor, evaluate, and enhance both individual and team performance.

• Identifying opportunities and implement initiatives for continuous improvement in ways of working, quality, consistency and effectiveness of process

• Leverage Sysco’s technological capabilities while ensuring operations align with sustainability commitments.

• Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets for the departments

Requirements:

• 10+ years’ experience in relevant areas

• Trade or Degree qualified in relevant areas

• Lives and breathes Customer Firstapproach

• Extremely organised & comfortable operating in a highly dynamic & fast paced environment

• Ability to influence across a wide range o internal and external stakeholders with proven ability to challenge the status quo

• Proven ability in motivating, inspiring, leading and developing teams

• Competent in breaking down a problem, understand the root cause and work with relevant stakeholders on developing and implementing solutions

• Has proven experience in leading a positive culture by example and taking your teams on the journey with you

• Is commercially astute and highly experienced at successfully implementing change
