Job summary

Conaty Food and Catering Supplies in Ireland seeks a Head of Inventory to own and optimise stock across multiple depots. With €3m+ in stock, you will lead a 15–20 person team and drive data-driven improvements using ERP/WMS and AI techniques.

You will develop controls, cycle counting, and KPI reporting, partnering with Purchasing, Operations and Finance to build a high-performance function that supports service levels and working capital.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in inventory and stock management in a large organisation.
• Demonstrable experience managing multi-million-euro inventory.
• Strong experience leading and developing teams.
• Experience operating within a multi-site, high-volume environment.
• Strong understanding of inventory control and cycle-counting methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability.
• Proven ability to identify and resolve the root causes of inventory discrepancies.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of the impact inventory has on working capital and profitability.
• Demonstrable experience delivering measurable operational improvements.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve inventory ownership and control across all locations.
• Develop and maintain robust inventory controls, policies and procedures.
• Ensure stock movements, adjustments, and returns are accurately controlled.
• Lead a ~15–20 person inventory team and drive performance through KPIs and reviews.
• Implement real-time dashboards, analytics, and exception reporting to reduce costs and improve service.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Operations, Finance, Sales and IT to optimise stock availability and working capital.
• Drive automation and Lean initiatives to modernise inventory processes.
• Benchmark against best practice and create a structured improvement roadmap.
