Job summary

Morgan McKinley is partnering with a well-established Irish business to recruit a Head of Inventory. This senior role oversees an inventory portfolio exceeding €3m across multiple locations and leads a 15–20 person team to drive improvements, automation and AI-driven insights.

The position offers strategic leadership and strong impact on working capital and stock accuracy. The ideal candidate will challenge current practices, advance ERP/WMS utilisation and deliver data-driven transformations

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a senior inventory, stock management or supply chain leadership position.
• Proven experience managing multi-site inventory portfolios exceeding multi-million euros.
• Experience leading sizeable teams in a high-volume environment.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control, stock optimisation, cycle counting and planning.
• Experience improving stock accuracy, working capital efficiency and turn.
• Excellent analytical skills interpreting data for commercial improvements.
• Experience delivering operational transformation and automation initiatives.
• Advanced ERP/WMS capabilities and reporting for decision support.

Responsibilities

• Own inventory strategy and ownership across multiple locations with stock valued over €3m.
• Develop strategies to improve stock turn, reduce excess and optimise working capital.
• Establish best-practice inventory controls, handling movements, adjustments and write-offs.
• Lead cycle-counting programmes with risk-based approaches and root-cause analysis.
• Own supplier returns and maximise financial recoveries.
• Modernise the function via ERP/WMS usage, automation and data analytics.
• Lead and develop a 15–20 strong team and foster a high-performance culture.
• Drive continuous improvement and develop a structured roadmap for inventory performance.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align inventory with broader commercial goals.
