Job summary

Talbot Group is seeking a Head of HR Operations to lead recruitment and core people services across the group. Reporting to the Director of People Operations & Engagement, you will ensure compliant, efficient HR operations, drive colleague retention and support ongoing workforce needs.

You will build a seamless HR service, manage end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and HRIS, while maintaining policy standards and data quality.

• Senior HR operations experience within a complex or multi-site organisation.
• End-to-end HR operations, workforce planning and recruitment leadership.
• Proven track record of improving HR service delivery and employee experience.
• Experience leading teams through periods of growth, change or organisational development.

• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.

• Hybrid working available but greater on-site presence is required during onboarding and the initial period in role.

Responsibilities

• Deliver recruitment plans and hiring targets, including talent pipelines, agency management and support for new service openings.
• Collaborate on workforce planning, pipeline monitoring and analytics.
• Own end-to-end recruitment processes, including vacancy approvals, selection, offers, contracts and candidate experience.
• Lead workforce compliance and pre-employment checks, including vetting, required registrations, eligibility and audit-ready records.
• Standardise and deliver onboarding, induction, probation administration and employee lifecycle documentation across all locations.
• Maintain the policy framework, SOPs, templates and document controls, coordinating revisions with the Employee Relations & Engagement function.
• Own HRIS administration, data quality, workforce dashboards and process digitisation in partnership with Finance and operational leaders.
• Lead the HR Operations team with clear service standards, turnaround times, quality controls and escalation arrangements.

Sanderson has been retained by Talbot Group to appoint a Head of HR Operations. Reporting to the Director of People Operations & Engagement, this role will lead the delivery of recruitment and core people services across the Group, ensuring consistent, efficient and compliant HR operations that support colleague retention and ongoing workforce requirements. This critical position requires balancing strong compliance requirements, commercial sustainability as well as excellent service delivery and employee experience. The successful person will build a seamless HR service to accelerate high-volume specialised recruitment and drive retention across the group
