  • Use internal and external intelligence, regulatory developments and performance data to identify emerging risks, thematic issues and opportunities to strengthen the control framework.
  • Lead and support regulatory engagements, inspections and examinations, ensuring responses are accurate, evidenced and delivered to the required standard.
  • Partner across Compliance, Risk, the First Line, Data, Technology and Group entities to simplify governance, improve reporting capability and deliver sustainable control enhancements.
  • Support and deputise for the Group MLRO at senior internal and external fora, as required, and contribute to the wider leadership and strategic direction of Group Financial Crime Compliance.

  • A strong understanding of Financial Crime regulatory requirements and supervisory expectations, together with the ability to translate them into practical governance, risk assessment and reporting arrangements.
  • Proven experience leading and developing a specialist team and delivering through competing priorities and material change.
  • Strong analytical judgement, with the ability to assess complex data and risk information, reach defensible conclusions and communicate the implications clearly.
  • Experience engaging with senior management, Boards, regulators and a wide range of business, risk, data and technology stakeholders.
