Job description

Staycity Group, we bring together two leading aparthotel brands — Staycity Aparthotels and Wilde Aparthotels — united by a shared commitment to modern, flexible hospitality. Across our properties and support teams, our goal is simple: to deliver exceptional experiences for our guests and create an environment where our people can do their best work.

Whether you’re joining our operations or head office teams, you’ll be part of a fast-growing European hospitality group built on our values of curiosity, drive, collaboration, kindness, and respect. We’re a diverse and inclusive team that encourages you to bring your unique self to work — because we believe great hospitality starts with people who feel valued, supported, and inspired to grow.

The Role

At Staycity Group, we are building smarter, more efficient, and higher-performing operations across our growing portfolio, and we are looking for a transformational facilities leader to help drive that journey. This is not a traditional maintenance leadership role. We are seeking an ambitious, commercially minded operator with the curiosity, energy, and determination to continuously improve how we operate. Someone who challenges inefficiency, raises standards, and is passionate about building facilities and maintenance operations that are safer, smarter, more scalable, and more effective.

As Head of Facilities & Maintenance Ireland, you will lead the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of facilities and engineering services across a multi-site portfolio. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence, improving asset performance, optimising maintenance strategies, enhancing contractor performance, and delivering measurable commercial impact across the business. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership capability, strategic thinking, and continuous improvement mindset. You will work closely with operational teams and senior stakeholders to modernise ways of working, improve efficiencies, reduce reactive maintenance, and create a culture of accountability, ownership, and high performance.

Benefits
  • 25 days annual leave
  • Health and Dental Insurance
  • Annual Bonus, based on performance and impact
  • Employer Contributed Pension
  • Paid Maternity, Surrogacy, Adoptive & Paternity Leave
  • Discounted rates for overnight stays for you, your family and friends
  • Refer and Earn Scheme
  • Cycle to Work Scheme, supporting a healthy lifestyle and our planet
  • Education Support to help foster new skills and development
  • 2 paid Volunteer Days per year
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
We Would Love You To Have
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop high-performing teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • An insatiable curiosity to improve operations, challenge inefficiencies, and continuously raise standards across people, systems, and processes.
  • A proactive, change-oriented mindset, with the confidence to challenge traditional ways of working and implement smarter, more scalable solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of facilities management, building services, maintenance operations, and statutory compliance requirements, including health and safety legislation.
  • Experience in asset management, lifecycle planning, and preventative maintenance programmes across multiple sites or complex operational environments.
  • Proven ability to identify opportunities for operational improvement, cost reduction, and increased efficiency while maintaining high service standards.
  • Strong commercial and financial management capability, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and CAPEX management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing sustainable corrective actions.
  • Proven experience managing contractors, vendors, and external service providers to ensure high standards of delivery, accountability, and performance.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the business.
  • Ability to operate independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver results within a dynamic and evolving environment.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within facilities, maintenance, engineering, or technical operations leadership roles.
  • Experience leading maintenance or facilities operations within hospitality, commercial, industrial, or multi-site environments.
  • A recognised degree, diploma, or trade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certification in Facilities or Maintenance Management such as IWFM, BIFM, IHEEM, or equivalent would be advantageous.
  • Experience using CMMS and asset management systems would be highly beneficial.
What You Can Do For Us
  • Lead day-to-day facilities and technical operations across a multi-site portfolio, ensuring safe, seamless, and high-quality operational delivery.
  • Drive operational transformation initiatives focused on improving efficiency, reducing reactive maintenance, optimising contractor spend, and improving asset performance across the estate.
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise to Facilities teams, supporting critical systems, operational resilience, and change management initiatives.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies, preventative maintenance programmes, and asset lifecycle plans to maximise operational efficiency and long-term asset value.
  • Ensure full statutory, health and safety, and regulatory compliance across all facilities and operations.
  • Monitor contractor and vendor performance through audits, service reviews, and performance management processes to ensure consistent standards and accountability.
  • Lead operational budgeting, cost control initiatives, and CAPEX projects to ensure strong financial performance and return on investment.
  • Use operational insight, data, and systems to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and measurable business impact.
  • Lead incident investigations, risk assessments, and corrective action processes to maintain safe and compliant environments.
  • Monitor facility and equipment performance, delivering regular reporting and operational insights to key stakeholders.
  • Build strong working relationships with site teams, operational leaders, and external service partners to support collaboration and delivery excellence.
  • Create a culture of ownership, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement within the Facilities & Maintenance function.
  • Lead, coach, and develop technical teams to drive high performance, engagement, and service excellence across the portfolio.

If you thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment where ambiguity is met with enthusiasm and determination, and if you lead with kindness, clarity, and curiosity, we’d love to hear from you.
