The Role:
The Head of Europe will have leadership responsibility for all aircraft origination and marketing activity in the Europe region, reporting to the President & Chief Commercial Officer. The role will be based in Dublin.
While a regional leadership role, as with their peers in other regions, the successful candidate will have a global and collaborative perspective that will deliver optimal outcomes for the business. The person in this key role will manage and develop the strategic commercial plan for the region, with accountability for customer relationship management. They will also have oversight of all transactions in the region, including sourcing, negotiation, internal transaction management, approval process management and transaction life cycle customer management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsibility for Regional Financial Performance: Exceed financial performance targets for the region through superior transaction execution across sale and leasebacks, placements, remarketing, restructuring and cash collection.
- Strategic Customer Engagement: Nurture and develop airline relationships in the region through developing and executing on a customer engagement plan capturing transaction level relationships from Executive level down.
- Insightful People Management : Thoughtful and effective resource management to ensure optimal team size and shape. Establish measurable functional and individual objectives and drive performance against those objectives. Passionately engage with the Europe team’s professional development, taking ownership with team members for their learning and development. Be a willing mentor, informally and/or formally, of other members of the Avolon TRIBE.
- Innovative Thinking: Demonstrate an ability to develop innovate new marketing and sales strategies and to operate in new product markets.
- Internal People and Process Expertise: Demonstrate a keen sense of the importance of internal partners and processes to deliver best outcomes for Avolon. - Comprehensive understanding of technical issues on aircraft and engines, ideally with significant experience of transitioning aircraft.
- Proven depth of commercial ability and understanding of pricing, technical, credit, legal and other issues impacting lease decision-making in the context of delivering on the company business plan.
- A proven track record of managing core operational responsibilities, while simultaneously possessing an outward looking perspective with a capacity to identify and distil emerging industry trends.
- A strong desire to lead and participate in corporate development initiatives.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent work experience in Business, Economics, Finance, Technical, Legal or related field.
