Job summary

E-Frontiers in Dublin City Centre is seeking a Head of Enterprise Architecture to lead the function for a major technology transformation. You will define architecture strategy, governance, and operating models, aligning technology investments with business goals and risk controls.

You will build and grow the EA team, set standards across cloud, data, AI, and integration, and partner with senior stakeholders to deliver scalable, cost-efficient technology solutions in a complex organisation.

Qualifications

We are seeking an accomplished Head of Enterprise Architecture to join a major organisation at an exciting point in its technology transformation journey.

This is a newly established senior leadership position with responsibility for defining and embedding the organisation's Enterprise Architecture capability. You will play a key role in shaping the future technology landscape, establishing architectural direction and governance, and ensuring technology investments support wider business strategy.

This is an opportunity for an experienced Enterprise Architect and technology leader to have significant influence across a complex organisation, working closely with senior business and technology stakeholders and leading a team through a period of substantial change.

The Opportunity

You will take ownership of the Enterprise Architecture function, establishing the standards, principles, governance and ways of working required to support a modern, scalable technology environment.

Key areas of responsibility will include:

• Define and lead the organisation's Enterprise Architecture strategy and operating model.
• Establish architecture principles, standards, frameworks and governance processes across technology.
• Develop and chair an effective Architecture Review and Governance function, ensuring major technology decisions are aligned with strategic objectives.
• Drive greater consistency and standardisation across applications, infrastructure, platforms and technology services.
• Shape architecture strategies covering Cloud, Data, AI, integration, applications and modern software engineering.
• Work with senior business and technology leaders to translate business priorities into practical technology strategies and roadmaps.
• Act as a senior technology thought leader, identifying opportunities for innovation, simplification, cost optimisation and improved operational efficiency.
• Build and lead technology communities of practice, encouraging knowledge sharing and consistent architectural approaches.
• Lead, develop and grow the Enterprise Architecture team, creating a high-performing and collaborative environment.
• Provide architectural leadership through major transformation and organisational change initiatives.
• Contribute to technology investment planning, budgeting and prioritisation.
• Ensure architecture decisions appropriately consider security, risk, resilience, governance and the full technology lifecycle.
• Influence senior stakeholders and provide clear recommendations on complex technology decisions.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a senior technology professional who combines deep Enterprise Architecture expertise with strong commercial awareness and exceptional leadership capability.

You will ideally bring:

• Significant experience leading Enterprise Architecture within a large, complex organisation.
• A strong track record across application, software, infrastructure and enterprise architecture.
• Experience establishing or transforming an Enterprise Architecture function, including frameworks, governance and operating models.
• Strong knowledge of modern technology environments including Cloud, Data, AI, integration and digital platforms.
• Experience influencing technology strategy at executive and senior leadership level.
• A proven ability to act as a change leader, helping organisations adopt new technology, processes and operating models.
• Strong understanding of IT governance, risk, technology lifecycles and architectural decision-making.
• Experience leading, developing and motivating high-performing architecture or technology teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the credibility to challenge and influence senior executives.
• Strong commercial judgement, including experience contributing to technology investment decisions and budget planning.
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• An Enterprise Architecture qualification such as TOGAF, Zachman or equivalent would be advantageous.

The Person

You will be a strategic thinker who can also operate effectively at an execution level. You will be comfortable moving between long-term technology strategy, architectural governance, transformation programmes and senior stakeholder discussions.

The successful candidate will bring credibility, energy and the ability to build an Enterprise Architecture function that is respected across both technology and the wider business.
