Our client, a boutique, independent Dublin-based ManCo, is seeking to appoint a Head of Compliance to take ownership of the Compliance function and play a key role in the firm's regulatory framework and senior leadership team.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the successful candidate will lead the Compliance function and act as Designated Person for Regulatory Compliance, providing senior regulatory guidance and ensuring the company and its funds continue to meet all Irish regulatory and governance requirements. The role is based in Dublin 2 and offers excellent hybrid flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Irish Compliance function, maintaining and continuously developing the company's regulatory compliance framework, policies, procedures and monitoring programme.
- Act as the Designated Person for Regulatory Compliance, providing senior oversight of compliance matters across the Management Company and its regulated fund activities.
- Manage regulatory relationships, including acting as a key contact with the Central Bank of Ireland and supporting regulatory inspections, enquiries, filings and other regulatory engagements.
- Monitor regulatory developments across Ireland and internationally, assess their impact on the business and funds, and implement appropriate changes to policies, procedures and controls.
- Provide regulatory advice to senior management, colleagues and clients, ensuring the business understands its obligations and receives clear, practical guidance on compliance and regulatory matters.
- Maintain a strong control environment, including management of the compliance risk register, compliance monitoring, staff and Board training, AML oversight and the performance monitoring of outsourced compliance and AML providers.
Key Requirements
- 4+ years' relevant Compliance experience, ideally gained within the Irish fund management, fund administration, asset management or broader investment management industry.
- Strong knowledge of Irish financial services regulation, with a good understanding of the regulatory requirements applying to UCITS and AIFM Management Companies; knowledge of UK, Cayman or Bermuda regulation would be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of fund structures and regulatory oversight, including the obligations of Management Companies, Fund Administrators and Depositaries.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to advise senior management, engage with regulators and communicate complex regulatory requirements clearly.
- Relevant third-level or professional qualification, such as LCOI or equivalent, combined with strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced regulated environment.
