Job summary

Assisted Human Reproduction Regulatory Authority (AHRRA) seeks a Director of AHR Licensing and Compliance to lead licensing, monitoring and enforcement across AHR activities. The role ensures safe, ethical practice in line with the Health (Assisted Human Reproduction) Act 2024 and related legislation.

The post reports to the Chief Executive Officer and requires directing licensing agreements, guiding regulatory frameworks, and ensuring public information is accurate.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years in a senior regulatory, compliance, inspection, or enforcement role
• Experience operating within a statutory or public sector regulatory framework
• Proven ability to interpret, apply, and enforce legislation, regulations, and codes of practice
• Experience designing or implementing licensing systems, regulatory standards, or compliance frameworks
• Strong understanding of healthcare or biomedical regulatory environments
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams
• Experience interpreting and applying legislation
• Experience managing high-risk regulatory decisions
• Strong analytical, judgement, and decision-making capability

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to the Authority on licensing frameworks for providers and researchers.
• Licence all AHR treatment providers and researchers.
• Ensure AHR treatment and research in Ireland are safe, ethical, lawful and compliant.
• Enforce the Act and licence conditions.
• Protect health and wellbeing of children and patients.
• Regulate standards of care, safety, data protection and ethical practice.
