Job summary

Cork's Vienna Woods Hotel is seeking an experienced Housekeeping Manager to lead our Housekeeping Department. This hands-on role involves driving standards, rostering, training and performance management to support our growing hotel.

You will oversee guest bedrooms, public areas, linen and laundry, ensuring high cleanliness, safety, and guest satisfaction while developing the team as the hotel expands.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Housekeeping Manager or senior housekeeping role within hospitality.
• Strong understanding of hotel housekeeping operations and bedroom standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in presentation and cleanliness.
• Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate and develop a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and motivate the housekeeping team daily.
• Ensure guest bedrooms and public areas meet high standards.
• Carry out inspections and follow up on issues.
• Plan daily workloads based on occupancy and arrivals/departures.
• Prepare and manage departmental rosters and staffing levels.
• Monitor productivity and labour costs while maintaining standards.
• Recruit, onboard, train and develop housekeeping staff.
• Manage performance, attendance and day-to-day staff matters with HR.
• Develop and maintain clear housekeeping procedures, checklists and SOPs.
• Manage linen, laundry, cleaning products, guest supplies and stock.
• Monitor stock levels and identify waste reduction opportunities.
• Collaborate with Reception to ensure timely bedroom inspections and release.
