Job summary

Pettitt's SuperValu in Bray is seeking a Grocery Manager to lead the Grocery department with a hands-on approach, driving high standards in fresh food, stock management, merchandising, food safety and customer service.

The role requires strong retail experience and the ability to motivate a team in a fast-paced environment, with responsibilities spanning promotions, service standards and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Promotional setups need to be run correctly to ensure the correct offers are displayed to our customers.
• Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Grocery department, ensuring high standards of service, merchandising, and food quality.
• Deliver sales, profit, waste, labour, and other agreed KPI targets in line with business objectives.
• Manage stock control, budgets, wage costs and departmental costs to maximise profitability.
• Lead, motivate, coach, and develop the fresh food team, creating a positive and high-performing work environment.
• Review floor staff annually carrying out regular performance reviews and annual appraisals.
• Hold regular team meetings to communicate business updates, objectives, and new initiatives.
• Participate with the Store Manager on people management, operational performance, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure excellent customer service by resolving customer queries professionally and efficiently.
• Maintain compliance with health and safety, and all company policies and procedures.
