Job summary

Danone Specialized Nutrition in Ireland is launching a major greenfield investment to build a next-generation liquid nutrition facility. The Utilities Engineer will own utility systems, including steam, chilled water, HVAC, compressed air, nitrogen generation and storage, and WWTP, ensuring safe, on-time delivery and regulatory compliance.

The role requires leading design, installation, commissioning, and handover, coordinating with EPCM partners, suppliers, and operations to optimise energy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Energy, or equivalent).
• 5-10 years of utilities engineering experience in food, beverage, dairy, pharma, or nutrition manufacturing.
• Experience with greenfield or brownfield utilities delivery.
• Hands-on with multiple utility systems (steam, chilled water, HVAC, electrical, compressed air, WWTP).
• Experience in energy management and system optimization.
• Experience collaborating with suppliers, contractors and external engineering firms.
• Familiarity with CAPEX processes and project management.
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Technical ownership for utilities requirements across the project.
• Lead or support utility-related projects from design to commissioning and qualification.
• Coordinate on-site with contractors to meet milestones on time and in full.
• Support FAT/SAT, performance testing and environmental qualifications.
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, EHS, and Engineering to ensure hygiene and environmental compliance.
• Support procurement, tendering, and supplier management for utility systems.
• Develop SOPs, preventive maintenance plans, and handover documentation.
