Job summary

AECOM is looking for talented graduates to join our Traffic Engineering teams across the UK and Ireland, working on a diverse range of safer, more efficient transport networks. You’ll be mentored by experienced engineers and gain exposure to a full project lifecycle.

You’ll train in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, LinSig, TRANSYT and VISSIM, while developing digital engineering and BIM skills in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with hybrid work options.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in traffic engineering, transport and the development of safe, efficient and sustainable transport networks.
• Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and evaluate technical information.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Good technical and report-writing skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, clients and other stakeholders.
• Ability to structure and prioritise work effectively while contributing to the wider team.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently, demonstrating initiative, focus and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the development of designs and technical solutions through different project stages.
• Attending site visits, meetings and workshops with clients and other design professionals.
• Training in engineering, design and traffic modelling software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, LinSig, TRANSYT, VISSIM).
• Developing understanding of digital engineering and BIM processes.
• Taking on increasing responsibility for project tasks and technical deliverables as experience grows.
• Gaining experience across projects from inception through to completion.
