You’ll work across Linux kernel and user space, write drivers and software for high-speed networking, and contribute to protocols, hardware integration, and automation in a collaborative, highly technical team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Java, Python, or Go.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Ability to collaborate in a technical team.

Responsibilities

• Writing Linux user space and kernel code to allow 32-bit drivers to DMA 64-bit virtual memory spaces using both Intel and AMD IOMMU controller.
• Working on the hardware/software boundary for chips and the kernel. You will program networking chips to provide latency analysis and count events at billions per second.
• Implementing communications protocols between routers and switches at layer 2 and layer 3 (LLDP, 802.1x, BFD, BGP, OSPF, ISIS).
• Updating the forwarding state of the hardware, using platform-independent abstractions.
• Reconciling the Linux kernel routing model with the switch's forwarding state.
• Implementing a policy language for filtering and manipulating routing data.
• Accessing ASIC registers over SPI, SMbus, PCIe and I2C to implement high-resolution timers and gather real-time network statistics.
• Developing configuration management services using Go and Python to support YANG, OpenConfig, NETCONF and RESTCONF over gRPC, ssh and ssl.
• Developing routing protocol agents (BGP, OSPF, ISIS) in C/C++ within a Fedora Linux embedded environment with automated Python-based test harness.
