Job summary

Global Professional Consultants is seeking a Graduate Site Engineer to join a leading civil engineering contractor on a major public realm project in the Midlands. The role offers hands-on exposure across roads, drainage, utilities and public realm works.

The successful candidate will have a civil engineering degree, be a graduate or early-career engineer, and eager to develop setting-out skills using GPS and Total Station, with strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Graduate or early-career engineer seeking site engineering career.
• Previous site experience is advantageous.
• Interest in roads, drainage, utilities, or public realm projects.
• Willingness to develop setting-out experience using GPS and Total Station.
• Good understanding of drawings and construction principles.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Assist with setting out using GPS and Total Station equipment.
• Support delivery of roads, footpaths, cycle lanes, drainage, ducting, kerbs, and public realm works.
• Assist with road construction and developing two new roundabouts.
• Coordinate daily site operations with site management and subcontractors.
• Ensure works align with drawings, specs and programme.
• Assist with as-built surveys and maintain accurate site documentation.
• Monitor quality standards and ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Assist with health & safety inspections and site audits.
• Liaise with subcontractors, design teams, utility providers and local authority representatives.
• Support the commercial and project management teams with quantities and progress reporting.
