Job summary

Egis is seeking a qualified engineer to support railway system safety activities on projects in Ireland. The role focuses on developing safety documents, performing hazard analyses, and ensuring compliance with European and national regulations.

You will work under the Head of Systems Safety and collaborate with clients and senior engineers to deliver robust safety outcomes. The ideal candidate holds an engineering degree, is eager to learn, and demonstrates teamwork and leadership capabilities

Qualifications

• Degree (or equivalent) in engineering or an appropriate discipline.
• Willingness to learn new disciplines.
• Strong team player with initiative and leadership when needed.

Responsibilities

• Carry out core systems safety activities on rail projects.
• Develop project-specific system safety documents per IÉ processes and CRR guidelines.
• Identify hazards using HAZIDs, HAZOPs and other methods.
• Generate safety documents including safety cases and hazard records.
• Engage with clients to build strong working relationships with Egis.
• Assist in audits under the guidance of senior engineers.
