Job summary

AECOM in Ireland is seeking Geotechnical/Engineering Geology graduates to join our Ground Engineering team. You will work on desk studies, site inspections, fieldwork supervision, and geological interpretation across UK&I and internationally, contributing to a wide range of ground engineering projects.

The 2-year Graduate Development Programme (GDP) and GEO Grounding training academy develop technical skills in desk study, geological interpretation, and ground modelling.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology with a 2:1 classification (or equivalent) or higher.
• An MSc/MEng in Soil Mechanics, Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential, and competent use of AutoCAD/Civil 3D software is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Desk studies, site inspections, rockface surveys and geomorphological mapping.
• Design, planning and procurement of ground investigations.
• Supervision of ground investigation fieldwork.
• Geological interpretation and preparation of interpretative reports.
• Analysis of geotechnical data, preparation of ground models, design and reporting of ground engineering solutions.
• Use of Openground for data management and Leapfrog for 3D geological modelling.
• Access to 2D/3D analysis software with opportunities to develop modelling skills.
