Cunningham is launching a Graduate Engineer opportunity for September 2027 intake. This site-based role offers exposure to Dublin, Wicklow and Kildare projects with potential international experiences.

We are seeking motivated graduates in Civil/Construction Engineering with a hands-on mindset, strong IT skills (MS Office, AutoCAD) and a willingness to travel across Ireland. Join a team committed to safety, quality and development.

Qualifications

Candidates studying Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, and related disciplines.
Practical site experience gained as part of a placement or paid employment.
Strong IT experience with MS Office and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

Assist with surveying and setting-out duties.
Support site management to meet schedule and budget.
Liaise with quantity surveyors on materials pricing.
Prepare drawings, calculations, risk assessments and method statements.
Produce progress reports.
Liaise with clients and conduct site investigations.
Assist engineers, subcontractors, and other parties to ensure all work meets specifications.

Reporting to: Site Manager

Location: This is a site-based role offering the opportunity to work on exciting projects across Dublin, Wicklow and Kildare, with potential exposure to international projects in Germany, Sweden and other EU countries.

Flexibility to travel is essential, but we'll provide the necessary accommodation and support to help you make the most of these opportunities.

Contract type: Full-Time, Permanent

Duties will include:

Ensuring Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements are adhered to.
Assist with surveying and setting-out duties.
Supporting the site management team to ensure that the project can be completed on-time and in budget.
Liaising with quantity surveyors about the ordering and pricing of materials.
Preparation of drawings, calculations, risk assessments and method statements, ensuring quality control and compliance procedures are adhered to.
Producing progress reports as appropriate.
Liaising with clients and carrying out site investigations.
Assisting engineers, subcontractors, and other parties engaged ensuring all work is completed according to specifications.

Qualifications & Experience

We welcome applications from candidates studying Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, and related disciplines.
Practical site experience gained as part of a placement or paid employment.
Strong IT experience with MS Office and other relevant software such as AutoCAD.

Skills & Attributes

Strong communication skills, with the ability to relay complex information in clear manner.
Well organised, with the ability to manage workload and prioritise competing tasks.
Possess attention to detail, and diligent with standards of work.

Additional Information

All candidates should have the legal right or a valid permit to that enables them to work in the Republic of Ireland and the UK.
Travel to various sites and live projects across Ireland will be expected as part of normal duties for this role, therefore a full driving licence and access to own vehicle will be an advantage.
As part of this role, you will be expected to work outdoors on live construction sites all year-round in varying weather conditions.
