Job summary

Dell Technologies is seeking a Graduate Automation Engineer to join the Cork Manufacturing Engineering team. You will work with cross‑functional teams to develop, support, and optimize automated manufacturing systems across NPI and steady‑state operations.

You will gain hands‑on experience with PLCs, robotics, and software tools, while applying Lean manufacturing methods and data visibility to drive efficiency and quality improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in automation/electrical/computer engineering or related field.
• Experience with PLC programming on Siemens and/or Allen‑Bradley platforms.
• Familiarity with robotics and automated manufacturing equipment.
• Programming experience in Python, C#, Java or SQL.
• Understanding of industrial protocols: Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profinet, OPC-UA.
• Fluent English with strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop, support, and optimize automated manufacturing systems and processes.
• Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC‑controlled equipment.
• Integrate and commission robotics and automation equipment.
• Develop software tools and data-visibility applications.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams for NPI and manufacturing readiness.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for productivity and quality.
