Job summary

SimoTech, part of Project Farma and PerkinElmer, offers Graduate Automation Engineer roles to launch engineering careers in the life sciences sector from our Cork, Ireland base. You’ll work on automation and IT/OT systems for leading pharma and biotech customers, collaborating with experts in a global network of 5,500+ colleagues across 35 countries.

You’ll gain hands-on experience across PLC/SCADA, DCS, MES, and data systems, with involvement in code development, documentation, Qualification

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic, Chemical, or Computer Engineering.
• Basic knowledge of PLC/SCADA, DCS or IT/OT networking fundamentals.
• Familiarity with programming principles or database structures.
• GMP awareness and validation concepts are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, configuration, and testing of Automation and IT/OT Systems including PLC, SCADA, DCS, MES, and data systems.
• Assist senior engineers in delivering projects across manufacturing, utilities, cleanrooms, and control systems.
• Participate in activities such as code development, system documentation, qualification support, commissioning, and integration.
• Collaborate with teams to resolve technical challenges on automation infrastructure and process control systems.
• Learn best practices for regulated environments, including GAMP5 and lifecycle management.
• Contribute to implementing the latest digital and Industry 4.0 technologies in Life Sciences manufacturing.
