GMP MES Platform Engineer: IT Systems & Automation

Job summary

EFOR in Cork, Ireland is seeking an MES Platform Engineer to support the Emerson Syncade platform across the site in a GMP environment. The role requires hands-on MES/IT platform experience and collaboration with the global MES team.

You will troubleshoot, manage password rotation, develop LCM roadmaps, implement system changes, and ensure validation deliverables and patching are in place, while handling SAP/LIMS interfaces and VB/SQL scripting.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in supporting and troubleshooting MES solutions/platform in a GMP environment.
• Demonstrated ability to take a lead in resolving issues or developing solutions where needed.
• Experience with direct customer interactions for requirements gathering and translating into a solution.
• Good working knowledge of MES, automation systems, historians and DCS, and associated interfaces.
• Knowledge of Crystal Reports and VB/SQL scripting.
• Knowledge of GMPs, regulatory requirements, and computer system validation.
• Very good written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated learning agility both technically as well as business processes and applications.
• Demonstrated initiative to build relationships, learn new business processes, and identify new opportunities.
• Demonstrated ability to proactively identify issues and either resolve or escalateto the appropriate level for resolution.

Responsibilities

• Support the MES platform/system, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues.
• Manage MES Password Rotation across MES environments and platforms.
• Identify innovative ways to leverage the system/platform to drive business value.
• Develop, lead, and execute Life Cycle Management (LCM) roadmap for site MES platform.
• Develop, lead, and execute System Level changes for site MES platform.
• Accountable for software release analysis and local impact assessments.
• Ensure MES platform is maintained to the appropriate hotfix level and coordinate outages with business areas for system upgrades/updates.
• Develop, execute, review, and approve platform computer system validation deliverables.
• Support and provide subject-matter expertise to other members of the MES team.
• Partner with MES vendor & global MES team to ensure MES platform is implemented and maintained to the highest standard and highest availability.
• Develop and validate custom SQL Server/Oracle database queries and VB.NET scripts to support site investigations and reporting.
• Support MES system interfaces to other IT systems, e.g., LIMS, DCS, SAP, etc.
• Partner with site IT team to support connectivity of standalone production instruments to MES system.
• Ensure platform OS and databases are patched to latest version.
• Ensure MES platform/system is compliant with Global Standard Operating Procedures.
• Ensure MES system is compliant with data integrity and electronic records & signatures requirements.
• Support System periodic & system audit trail review process.
• Support Regulatory Audits.
