Job summary

Apple Inc. in Cork, Ireland invites a highly skilled R2R Accountant to oversee accounting, US GAAP, local statutory, and tax compliance for a portfolio of legal entities. You will lead monthly and quarterly closes and partner with external advisors and auditors to ensure accurate financial reporting.

You will work within the EMEIA GBS framework, maintaining strong controls, handling corporate tax returns, and supporting audits while collaborating across regions and finance teams.

Qualifications

• Fully Qualified Accountant with 5+ years of post-qualification experience.
• Strong technical proficiency in US GAAP, IFRS, and FRS.
• Strong Financial and Analytical Acumen: Ability to manage complex accounting/tax calculation models, interpret large sets of financial data, and provide clear guidance on compliance strategies.
• Detail-Oriented and Organized: Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to independently manage and prioritise multiple deliverables to meet ambitious deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the accounting, US GAAP, local statutory, and tax compliance for a portfolio of legal entities.
• Prepare high-quality financial statements and manage relationships with external advisors and auditors.
• Oversee corporate income tax returns and other required compliance filings.
• Ensure timely monthly and quarterly close processes for entities/accounting areas under your control.
• Support the R2R team in external audits, including tax audits from governmental agencies.
• Establish and maintain a robust control environment to ensure SOX compliance.
• Ensure appropriate systems, processes, tools, and business relationships are in place for effective legal entity controllership and compliance.
• Contribute to GBS initiatives and support ad-hoc projects.
