Job summary

Amazon Data Services Ireland Limited in Ireland is seeking a Global Product Lifecycle Engineer to provide electrical infrastructure support to AWS data centers, collaborate with product development, and own the product through its life cycle.

You will work with engineers, suppliers, and operations to ensure quality, reliability, and compliance, travel up to 30%, and help translate complex electrical systems into clear guidance for operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.
• Experience in commissioning.
• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities.

Responsibilities

• Review, update, and approve equipment submittals.
• Work with global electrical equipment suppliers and manufacturers.
• Build trust and relationships with different stakeholders (e.g. reliability, operations, design, compliance).
• Work on concurrent projects, in multiple geographic zones.
• Understand and explain complex systems in clear and concise language.
• Provide support to Field Engineering for root cause analysis, with collaboration with quality team for component-level investigations, maintenance and troubleshooting support, and operating procedure review for both mechanical and electrical issues.
• Listen to the voice of the customer to understand if there are improvements that can be made to increase product reliability or availability.
• Work with global supplier and manufacturers to design product improvements, and to oversee root cause analysis.
• Contribute to our global body of knowledge and drive a cycle of continuous improvement at a global scale.
