Global Powerplant Engineering Lead

Job summary

Avolon is a leader in global aviation finance, seeking a VP Technical - Powerplant to proactively support all engine activities and deliver innovative solutions for our leasing portfolio.

You will oversee powerplant operations, manage shop visits, and provide technical assessments for lease returns, transitions and risk management across a diverse set of engine types. Travel worldwide as required.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or EASA Part66 licensed engineer.
• Minimum five years airline, OEM or leasing experience in a technical function.
• Extensive knowledge in two engine types (CFM/GE/IAE/PW/RR).
• Track record with Engine MRO GTAs tendering, negotiation and admin.
• Solid understanding of airworthiness regulations and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day technical powerplant activities across Avolon's engine portfolio.
• Oversee engine shop visits, maintenance planning, cost validation and progress monitoring.
• Review engine technical records and maintenance status to support asset management.
• Monitor engine reliability, maintenance requirements and technical risks across the portfolio.
• Support transitions, repossessions and end-of-lease obligations from a technical perspective.
