Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to perform design engineering activities for new build projects and to innovate our rapidly expanding data center footprint across the EMEA region. You will join a global engineering team responsible for design leadership and continuous improvement of critical facilities.

Responsibilities include leading internal and external teams, coordinating design consultancy firms, defining project scopes, RFPs/RFIs, AHJ compliance, and site

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities.
• Experience with commissioning of systems in data centers is desirable.
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations for the region.

Responsibilities

• Be a leader within the group as well as with internal and external teams supporting data centres.
• Understand how design decisions impact building and campus level layouts.
• Manage design consultancy firms to create, review and release data center designs.
• Define project scopes, RFPs and RFIs.
• Work with AHJ to ensure compliance with city/county requirements and building codes.
• Travel for site review and conduct engineering evaluations, audits, and site launches.
• Review and approve equipment submittals.
• Troubleshoot problems with Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action.
