Job summary

GOAL in Ireland is seeking a Global Citizenship Youth & Public Engagement Coordinator to lead the development and delivery of the Global Citizenship programme for young people and the Irish public. You will drive engagement strategies, coordinate the Global NextGen Youth Programme & Network, and ensure integration with GOAL’s public engagement activities.

Ideal candidates have 4–5 years’ experience in youth/public engagement, strong event management skills, and proven ability to lead youth

Qualifications

  • Passionate about young people, Global Citizenship and social justice.
  • Degree or equivalent in community development, youth work, international development or related field.
  • 4–5 years’ experience coordinating youth and public engagement programmes.
  • Demonstrated experience in event management, conceptualisation, programming, coordination, production and post-reporting.
  • Background working with young people and fostering youth networks with leadership ability.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

About the role

GOAL is seeking a Global Citizenship Youth & Public Engagement Coordinator. The purpose of the role is to oversee the development and delivery of GOAL’s Global Citizenship youth and public engagement programme with a focus on empowering young people and engaging the wider Irish public to understand and take action on global issues related to GOAL’s work.

Main Duties
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase GOAL’s engagement with young people in Ireland around Global Citizenship in line with GOAL’s Crisis to Resilience Strategy
  • Coordinate and deliver GOAL’s Global NextGen Youth Programme & Network.
  • Manage the development and delivery of Global Citizenship’s public engagement strategy and related campaigns ensuring full integration of GOAL NextGen outputs and resources within wider public engagement activities.
  • Support facilitation GOAL’s Global Citizenship Education programme, external talks and workshops fostering enhanced Global Citizenship.
  • Develop robust monitoring and evaluation tools in order to review the effectiveness of the programme at all stages of development and implementation and adjust the vision for the future of the programme accordingly.
  • Effective coordination of youth & public engagement budget and implementation plan, including measuring effectiveness through a Results Framework including regular internal and external donor reporting
  • Ensure at all times best practice in child protection and welfare standards are adhered to.
Qualification and Skills
  • Passionate about young people, Global Citizenship, international development and social justice issues.
  • Degree or equivalent in community development, youth work, public affairs, international development, communications or related disciplines or evidence of comparable professional or volunteer experience.
  • 4-5 years’ experience in co-ordinating, developing and implementing programmes relating to youth and public engagement
  • Demonstrated experience of event management, conceptualisation, programming, coordination, production and post-reporting
  • Background working with young people and developing and fostering youth networks essential with proven ability to lead and inspire young people
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills and experience
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • IT Skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Note: As an organisation who works closely with children and youth GOAL has a comprehensive Child Protection Policy. Any offer of work is subject to standard Garda vetting.

  • Experience of working with young people from diverse and underrepresented communities

GOAL offers staff flexible working with our hybrid model, we require our HQ employees to work 2 days per week from our office in Dun Laoghaire, Dublin
