Job summary

Amazon, the AWS Network Fabric Engineering (NFE) team in Dublin, seeks a Network Development Manager to lead a high-skill group responsible for building, deploying and scaling data center networks globally. You will drive operational excellence, plan capacity, manage incidents and guide a diverse engineering and recruiting program.

You will mentor staff, own delivery of strategic goals, and work with software teams to automate routine tasks while maintaining unbeatable reliability and cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields, or experience working directly with engineering teams.
• Experience managing people and leading a team.

Responsibilities

• Drive operational excellence by creating processes and standards across the network.
• Measure key metrics and drive data-driven improvements in capacity, reliability and cost.
• Manage performance and career growth of the network development team with regular coaching.
• Lead incident and change management, improving tooling and procedures for scale.
• Oversee recruiting, onboarding, and training for new hires.
• Drive automation initiatives with software teams to enable self-service network tasks.
• Define and deliver strategic goals, align resources, and report status to leadership.
• Participate in 8x7 management escalation rotation.
