A Snapshot Of Your Peer Group
  • An NFQ Level 8 qualification (or equivalent), where a major component featured one or more of the following: Geospatial Science, GIS, Geography, Planning, Architecture, Urban Design, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Data Analytics or other relevant topics. Equivalent academic experience will always be considered.
  • Strong professional experience within the built environment, infrastructure, property, development or advisory sectors, with a track record of applying analytical and evidence-led approaches to client challenges (ranging from four to seven years).
  • Proven ability in project management and delivery from inception through to completion; integrating specialist inputs into coherent, high‑quality outputs.
  • Naturally curious and analytical, with the ability to interrogate complex datasets, identify patterns and translate evidence into meaningful insights using data visualisation techniques.
  • Comfortable developing methodologies, generating insights and communicating findings to technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • A strong mentor, reviewer and relationship builder, with experience supporting colleagues, engaging clients and contributing to business development and team growth.
  • Commercially aware, with an experience in business development, client relationship management, thought leadership and contributing to the growth and direction of a high‑performing advisory team.
Your responsibilities and achievements will evolve as you enhance your career with us. Here is what you can initially expect:
  • Benefit from a unique combination of planning, geospatial, analytics and strategic advisory work, collaborating with experts from across KPMG to help shape major decisions in housing, transport, energy, regeneration and public infrastructure. This breadth of opportunity enables you to develop skills and experiences that few planning consultancies can offer, while contributing to projects that deliver lasting impact across Ireland.
  • Develop robust methodologies and analytical approaches that support evidence‑based decision‑making, drawing on geospatial, demographic, socio‑economic and operational datasets; with good knowledge of the local data landscape.
  • Lead and deliver impactful projects, applying your expertise to interrogate complex datasets, uncover actionable insights, and produce high‑quality reports, strategies, business cases and advisory outputs for clients; putting spatially‑informed evidence at the heart of delivery.
  • Work alongside multidisciplinary project teams, contributing to other experts’ specialist inputs in shaping clear, practical and commercially relevant recommendations.
  • Provide technical leadership, quality assurance and mentoring, supporting colleagues in the delivery of high‑quality analytical and advisory outputs.
  • Build trusted client relationships, helping define project scopes, shape delivery approaches and communicate findings to senior stakeholders.
  • Help shape the future direction of a growing team and play an active role in fostering a collaborative, ambitious and inclusive culture where you will be directly supported in conducting business development, thought leadership, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Work on some of Ireland’s most significant projects, helping clients understand future demand, infrastructure requirements, land use opportunities and the evolving needs of communities, businesses and public services.
Your Team

You will be joining KPMG Planning, a specialised team at the intersection of planning, geospatial analysis, demographics, socio‑economic assessment and strategic advisory. Our work helps clients make better decisions about places, infrastructure, future needs and policy through the application of spatial intelligence and evidence‑led analysis.

We work across the full spectrum of the built environment, supporting projects in housing, commercial development, transport, energy, regeneration and social value. This breadth of work provides a unique opportunity to both apply your skills and develop new ones across multiple sectors while applying geospatial expertise to some of Ireland’s most significant projects.

The team operates as part of KPMG’s overall ‘Infrastructure Advisory’ practice, which engages on many of the largest and most exciting infrastructure, economics, sustainability, spatial and planning projects on the island; bringing together diverse expertise to address complex challenges.
