Are you our next Geospatial Insight Consultant?
Location: Dublin, with Hybrid Working Model
Grade: Consultant / Senior Consultant
Contract type: Permanent
A Snapshot Of Your Peer Group
  • An NFQ Level 8 qualification (or equivalent) where a major component featured Geospatial Science, GIS, Geography, Planning, Architecture, Urban Design, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Data Analytics or a related discipline. Equivalent academic or industry experience will always be considered.
  • Developing their professional experience working with spatial data, data analytics and data visualisation, with an interest in applying analytical approaches to real-world challenges (ranging from one to three years).
  • Strong technical skills in GIS, spatial analysis, data management and visualisation, with experience working with a range of datasets and analytical tools.
  • Naturally curious and analytical, with an enthusiasm for exploring data, identifying patterns and translating evidence into meaningful insights.
  • Comfortable communicating technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences through mapping, visualisation, reporting and presentation.
  • Eager to learn and grow, developing expertise across new sectors, analytical approaches, technologies and project types.

Your responsibilities and achievements will evolve as you enhance your career with us. Here is what you can initially expect:

  • Work across an exceptionally diverse portfolio of projects, applying geospatial analysis, mapping and spatial intelligence to challenges in housing, transport, energy, regeneration, commercial development and public policy.
  • Directly undertake geospatial and analytical work, using GIS, spatial modelling, demographic, socio-economic and operational datasets to generate robust evidence, actionable insights and high-quality client outputs.
  • Develop your technical expertise across a wide range of tools, methodologies and data sources, supported by experienced colleagues and opportunities for continuous learning.
  • Create compelling maps, dashboards, visualisations and reporting outputs that help clients better understand places, communities, infrastructure and future needs.
  • Support the development of innovative analytical methodologies, helping to apply data, technology and spatial thinking to emerging client challenges.
  • Collaborate with a broad array of experts, including planners, economists, infrastructure advisors, urban designers, sustainability specialists and more.
  • Benefit from the scale and breadth of KPMG’s work, gaining exposure to sectors, clients and challenges that few specialist geospatial consultancies can match.
  • Build your professional profile and career path through structured support, mentoring and opportunities to progressively take ownership of increasingly complex workstreams and client engagement.
Your Team

You will be joining KPMG Planning, a specialised team at the intersection of planning, geospatial analysis, demographics, socio-economic assessment and strategic advisory. Our work helps clients make better decisions about places, infrastructure, future needs and policy through the application of spatial intelligence and evidence-led analysis.

We work across the full spectrum of the built environment, supporting projects in housing, commercial development, transport, energy, regeneration and social value. This breadth of work provides a unique opportunity to develop your skills across multiple sectors while applying geospatial expertise to some of Ireland’s most significant projects.

As part of KPMG’s wider Infrastructure Advisory practice, you will work alongside economists, infrastructure specialists, sustainability professionals, planners and data experts, gaining exposure to multidisciplinary projects and perspectives rarely found within a traditional planning consultancy.

We are particularly interested in candidates who are keen to broaden their expertise and explore new areas. Whether your experience comes from planning, geography, environmental assessment, data analytics, infrastructure or another related discipline, we provide the support, mentoring and development opportunities needed to help you successfully transition and thrive within our team.
