Job summary

Capital Switchgear Limited in Rathcoole, Co Dublin, is seeking General Operatives for its production team. You will perform hands-on assembly and sub-assembly of mechanical and electrical components, with support for panel assembly, finishing, packing and quality checks.

We welcome candidates with or without experience and provide full training. The role is on site with standard hours and a competitive €17.00 per hour, with potential up to based on experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Willingness to learn and be part of a team.
• Good English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out assembly and sub-assembly of mechanical and electrical components.
• Provide support in assembling electrical panels when needed.
• Assist with finishing and packing products.
• Complete quality checks and follow all company quality control procedures.
• Accurately complete system updates and documentation in a timely manner.
• Adhere to standard internal procedures.
• Collaborate with colleagues in a safe, team-oriented workshop.
• Support supervisors on various assigned tasks as required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects where requested.
• Adhere to Health & Safety and environmental guidelines at all times.

Our team of General Operatives are central to the work we do here at Capital. We are building a team with a wide range of skill sets and abilities. This is a varied and rewarding role in our Production department, where every contribution is valued.

Day-to-day duties are quite diverse. On the Mechanical team, the tasks typically involve working hands-on with equipment and materials. We tailor duties to individual strengths so assigned tasks best match each member’s skill set and abilities. We are ideally seeking candidates with some previous experience in a manufacturing setting. That said, we will also hire some new team members with no experience, as full training is provided.

Requirements

• Preference for 2+ years’ experience working in a manufacturing setting.
• Suitable candidates with no experience will be considered, as full training will be provided.
• Enjoys hands-on tasks and developing practical solutions.
• A degree of mechanical aptitude and dexterity.
• Good work ethic and attention to detail are a must.
• Flexible approach to work, willingness to learn and be part of a team.
• Comfortable in following standard operating procedures in a manufacturing environment.
• Good working knowledge of spoken and written English.
• Previous experience in mechanical or electrical assembly is an advantage but not necessary.
• Previous experience in using hand tools is an advantage but not necessary.
• Eligible to work in Ireland (with a current valid work permit if needed).
• Full-time role.
• On site in our factory in Rathcoole, Co Dublin.
• Working hours are 07:30-16:30 Mon-Thurs and 07:30-13:30 Fri. Occasional weekend work may be required.
• Salary €17.00 per hour, negotiable depending on experience. Lower starting rate if you have no experience.
