Job summary

Tusker Construction Group, based in Co. Monaghan, invites applications for General Operatives to join our busy steel fabrication workshop in Broomfield, Co. Monaghan. You will help with day-to-day workshop operations and assist skilled fabricators and welders.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the day-to-day running of the steel fabrication workshop
• Operating workshop machinery, tools and equipment, subject to appropriate training and competency
• Assisting with the preparation and handling of steel materials
• General cutting, grinding, drilling and material preparation, where trained to do so
• Assisting skilled fabricators and welders with the preparation and movement of materials
• Loading, unloading and safely moving materials within the workshop
• Checking materials and completed work for obvious defects or issues
• Following workshop procedures, instructions and quality requirements
• Keeping your work area clean, organised and safe
• Using PPE correctly and following all health and safety procedures
• Taking care of tools, machinery and equipment
• Working with supervisors, fabricators, welders and the rest of the workshop team
• Reporting any defects, hazards or equipment issues to the Workshop Supervisor
• Carrying out other reasonable duties to support the efficient running of the Steelworks workshop
