Iona Resource Centre is seeking a CE General Assistant to support the Chef and Kitchen Assistant in the canteen within its day service. Training will be provided to help you develop in the catering field and to support people with disabilities access the day service.
Ideal candidates should have a caring nature, enjoy helping others, and be willing to engage in training, with driving license preferred. A Garda vetting application may be required.

Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.
Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.

Our service users love socialising within the canteen whilst having a good cuppa and freshly made dinner at lunch time.
Duties will include (Training will be provided):
Undertaking lunch service in the canteen
Assisting the chef and kitchen assistant in the safe running of the canteen (adhering to HACCP and FASI guidelines)
Providing sight guide support
Socialising and engaging with service users when they are in service.
Opportunity to work towards QQI and/or Industry Standard qualifications.
The ideal candidate will have:
Caring nature & enjoy supporting and assisting people
The ability to work as part of a team.
A willingness to engage in training and complete HACCP Qualification.
Driving licence preferred.
