Job summary

National Gallery of Ireland is seeking two Shop Assistants on fixed-term contracts to support all shop operations and deliver a quality customer experience. Reporting to the Retail Manager, you will handle transactions, sustain high housekeeping standards and assist with online orders and stockroom duties.

The role requires previous retail experience, a proactive, friendly attitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to work in an arts and cultural heritage setting to delight visitors.

Qualifications

• Previous retail experience.
• Enthusiastic and positive attitude to work.
• Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative when appropriate.
• Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
• Professional, polite, adaptable and friendly manner with staff and visitors.
• Interest in working in an arts and cultural heritage institution.
• Willingness to create a positive visitor experience in the shop and the Gallery.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding and consistent customer care.
• Process cash and card transactions through EPOS system.
• Carry out housekeeping to a high standard.
• Replenish stock on the shop floor in accordance with the shops visual merchandising standard.
• Assist with online orders, stockroom duties and general maintenance of the goods-in section.
• Carry out other duties appropriate to the post as assigned.
