Whats the role?

The Senior Manager, Fund & Corporate Accounting is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of accounting and financial reporting for multiple funds and corporate entities across diverse asset classes (Private Equity, Real Estate, Infrastructure, Credit) and fund structures. This role owns the technical execution of fund accounting, regulatory reporting, and financial statement preparation across multiple regulated entities and jurisdictions. The Senior Manager leads a team of junior accounting staff, ensures adherence to Gen II policies and controls, and works collaboratively with Associate Director, Operations on broader team strategy and client matters, and with PCF34 on complex accounting issues and regulatory governance.

What you'll be doing

Fund & Corporate Accounting Operations

  • Own day-to-day accounting and fund administration for assigned fund and entity portfolio
  • Review Limited Partnership Agreements and waterfall arrangements to ensure accurate investor allocations
  • Prepare and sign-off drawdown, equalization, and distribution files
  • Compute fees in line with relevant documentation and client agreements
  • Prepare and review quarterly investor financial reporting packages including quarterly management accounts and capital account statements
  • Prepare workpapers, investment schedules, accruals, and financial statements with footnotes
  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements for corporate vehicles (balance sheet, P&L, statutory footnotes)
  • Manage month and quarter-end close procedures, reconciliation calendars, and exception tracking
  • Investigate and sign-off on reconciling items and accrual adjustments
  • Ensure all client deliverables, regulatory, and tax reporting are completed on time and to required standard
  • Design and maintain internal control framework for financial reporting in assigned area
  • Ensure segregation of duties in fund accounting workflows and transaction processing
  • Establish and enforce maker-checker and peer review protocols for material transactions and distributions
  • Manage entity-level general ledger and ensure accuracy of accruals, operating expenses, and reconciliations
  • Prepare control documentation and workpapers for external audit and regulatory inspections
  • Ensure statutory financial statement compliance and timely filing with regulatory authorities (CRO, CBI, etc.)
  • Oversee entity tax compliance and tax provisions; coordinate with external tax advisors
  • Manage consolidation accounting and inter-company eliminations if applicable

Regulatory & Reporting

  • Support preparation of regulatory returns and financial reporting (e.g., AIFMD Annex IV, entity regulatory reports)
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of regulatory filings
  • Monitor regulatory changes and industry guidance; assess impact on accounting processes
  • Escalate material regulatory risks or compliance gaps to Associate Director and PCF34
  • Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements across all fund domiciles

Technical Expertise & Problem Solving

  • Serve as subject matter expert on fund accounting issues, waterfall structures, and complex allocations
  • Troubleshoot accounting issues and recommend solutions to process problems
  • Provide technical guidance to junior accounting staff on specific transactions and policy interpretation
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and recommend enhancements to accounting workflows
  • Support coordination with external service providers (custodians, transfer agents, sub-administrators) on accounting matters
  • Lead by example in the delivery of superior client service and adherence to Gen II policies and procedures
  • Manage and supervise junior accounting staff; assign work and monitor delivery against deadlines
  • Provide coaching, training, and technical guidance to junior staff on fund accounting processes, systems, and regulatory requirements
  • Review and ensure team implementation and adherence to Gen II accounting policies and procedures
  • Conduct appraisals, performance reviews, and competency assessments for direct reports
  • Identify training needs and support development plans for junior accounting staff
  • Escalate performance, capability, or HR matters to Associate Director as needed
  • Lead by example in maintaining high standards of accuracy, attention to detail, and professional conduct

Systems & Technology

  • Perform system administration tasks within assigned role (user access, data entry, reporting)
  • Coordinate with technology team on system changes and data requirements
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) for system changes affecting accounting
  • Troubleshoot system issues and elevate to technology team for resolution

Ad Hoc & Other Responsibilities

From time to time, the Senior Manager may also be asked to:

  • Attend client meetings and provide operational and technical support on accounting matters
  • Contribute to RFP responses and support onboarding of new clients with accounting requirements definition
  • Participate in projects and workgroups as required by management
  • Provide support to Risk, Compliance, and Internal Controls teams on accounting-related matters
  • Assist with commercial analysis and fee margin reviews as part of broader team responsibilities

The ideal background for this role:

  • 6-8 years of fund accounting or corporate accounting experience
  • Experience across multiple fund types (Private Equity, Real Estate, Infrastructure, or Credit)
  • Experience with quarterly and annual financial statement preparation and close procedures
  • Experience with complex waterfall models and fee computations
  • Experience with regulatory reporting (AIFMD, UCITS, or equivalent)
  • Experience supervising or coaching junior accounting staff preferred

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
  • Recognized accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of multiple accounting standards (IFRS, FRS102, US GAAP preferred)

Technical Skills

  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, data analysis)
  • Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Experience with accounting software and fund accounting systems preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Role Location/Hybrid Schedule

This role is based in our Dublin office. Although the nature of most of the roles within Gen II cannot be classed as totally flexible, there is scope in some cases for a form of Agile Working. The different ways in which Agile Working can be undertaken is dependent on the demands and needs of the business, the office space available and the individual’s preferences and circumstances.

This role is a key execution position within Gen II Fund Services Ireland's Fund Accounting function. The Senior Manager drives technical excellence, operational delivery, and team development while working collaboratively with Associate Director, Operations and PCF34 on broader governance and strategic matters.
