Job summary

Societe Generale is seeking a KYC / AML Officer for a 14 Month FTC in Ireland. The role focuses on conducting KYC/AML checks on client fund shareholders and supporting remediation activities, with emphasis on data integrity in the TA system and oversight of outsourced tasks.

You will engage with Compliance and Transfer Agency teams to ensure adherence to AML regulations, FATCA and related guidelines, while training stakeholders and maintaining robust procedures across the function.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing KYC/AML processes, including complex entity types.
  • Strong knowledge of KYC/AML regulatory requirements and frameworks.
  • Good knowledge of European and Irish AML and compliance environments.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Irish compliance requirements.
  • Sound awareness of risk and experience applying outcome-focused regulation.
  • Understanding of Irish and international fund regulatory environments, particularly fund administration.
  • Working knowledge of traditional and alternative investment fund administration.
  • Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into operational/process solutions.
  • Degree (or equivalent) required.
  • Fluent English essential; additional languages (particularly French) advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills (oral, written and presentation).
  • Very good analytical and problem-solving capability.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented, with ability to take initiative and ownership.
  • Strong attention to detail with a conscientious and accurate approach to work.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Collaborative approach with ability to build effective working relationships across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Review of account opening documentation including analytical risk assessment for new client accounts within agreed time frames.
  • Support the Registration, Compliance and Risk team in the resolution of complex KYC/AML cases.
  • Review and respond to KYC/AML related queries across all clients within agreed time frames.
  • Run, review and update KYC/AML reports and provide these reports to Clients and Regulatory Authorities.
  • Based on guidelines defined by CFT following the regulatory watch on new directives, laws and regulations related to KYC/AML, define how to implement those guidelines from an operational point of view.
  • Provide explanations / training on regulatory requirements (to internal and external stakeholders).
  • Implement and keep up to date procedures that ensure the team is compliant with all KYC/AML and Financial Crimes prevention policies.
  • Contribute to and prepare/discuss AML reviews as required by Compliance and by the business.
  • Manage relationships and provide support to internal stakeholders; Transfer Agency & Compliance departments, Clients.
  • Performing investigations where there are ML/CTF suspicions regarding Clients and escalating findings clearly and concisely for internal review by Compliance & MLRO.

About the team

Societe Generale Securities Services (SGSS) has been active in Ireland for 20 years and is a leading player in servicing Irish domiciled and offshore collective investment vehicles. We act locally as fund administrator and depositary for a wide range of international clients who manage schemes from UCITS to AIFs including private equity and real estate structures, hedge funds and special purpose vehicles.

Summary of Key Purposes of the Role
  • performing KYC / AML checks on shareholders of the client funds;
  • Assisting with the annual remediation exercise on existing Client files in line with SGSS periodic review policy;
  • Maintaining the data integrity of investor data in the TA System
  • Assisting in the oversight of any outsourced tasks such as technical investor account opening, completion of KYI, daily controls, monthly KPI review
  • overseeing the legal and regulatory environment with specific focus on Anti Money Laundering (AML) Regulations / FATCA and their implementation within the Transfer Agency perimeter;
  • and, implementing and maintaining robust processes for the function covered.
