Job summary

Ahoy is seeking a Senior or Staff Fullstack Engineer in Dublin to own features end to end, from the ingestion path to the user-facing surface. You will work across TypeScript/React and Python, balancing UI polish with robust backend design.

You will ship complete features, build capture and CRM-driven surfaces, and collaborate with the founders on what to build next. This role is hybrid, in-person several days a week, with a strong emphasis on reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with TypeScript and React across full-stack development.
• Strong Python expertise for backend services.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, queues and idempotency.
• Solid API design skills and API surface handoff.
• Attention to UI details; able to iterate from spec to polished UI.
• Experience debugging production issues and writing runbooks.

Responsibilities

• Ship whole features—from ingestion path through API to user-facing surface.

You own features end to end, from the pipeline that captures the activity to the surface where someone approves what the agent did about it. Ahoy is a system of action, not just a system of record, so the interesting work here crosses the seam: the data model, the agent reasoning over it, and the interface that makes both legible enough to trust. We hire this role at both Senior and Staff level.

What you'll do

• Ship whole features - the ingestion path, the data model, the API, and the surface a customer actually touches.
• Build the capture path - email, calendar, calls - and the pipeline that turns raw activity into records people trust.
• Build the surfaces where agent work becomes visible - review queues, one-tap approval, the diff between what the CRM knew and what it knows now.
• Work on how agents reason over CRM data: retrieval, tool use, evals, and the guardrails that keep a human in the loop.
• Own production. Instrumentation, on-call, and cost and latency budgets that hold under load.
• Pair with the founders on what to build next. Argue when something doesn't make sense.

What you bring

• Strong TypeScript and React on one side, strong Python on the other. Real depth in one, real competence in both.
• Distributed-systems fundamentals: databases, queues, idempotency, async work.
• API design you'd be happy to hand to another team without a meeting.
• A real eye for interface detail. Give you a rough spec and a Figma file and you come back with something better than both.
• You've debugged something in production that no runbook covered, then written the runbook.
• Hybrid out of Dublin. We work in person several days a week.

Senior or Staff?

• Senior. 5+ years shipping production software across the stack. You own features end to end, including the operational reality that comes with them.
• Staff. 8+ years, including time at Staff / Principal / Tech Lead level. You set architecture across services and surfaces, and you've shipped systems at meaningful scale rather than just diagrammed them.

• Production experience with LLM agent systems - orchestration, retrieval, evals, cost and latency tuning.
• You've built CRM, sales tech, or other data-dense B2B products.
