Job summary

Wygram Nursing Home in Wexford is seeking a Laundry/Accommodation Assistant to manage residents' clothing, bedding, towels, and linen with care and efficiency. You will operate laundry equipment, label items accurately, and support housekeeping and care teams to ensure resident comfort and wellbeing.

Applicants should be fluent in English, reliable, and able to work full-time. Prior laundry or hospitality experience is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring all residents' clothing, bedding, towels, and linen are collected, sorted, washed, dried, folded, and returned in a timely manner
• Operating laundry equipment safely and efficiently while following manufacturer guidelines and company procedures
• Maintaining accurate labelling and organisation of residents' personal clothing to ensure items are returned correctly
• Adhering to infection prevention and control procedures at all times
• Monitoring laundry supplies and notifying management when stock levels require replenishment
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised laundry environment
• Reporting any damaged clothing, linen, or equipment to the appropriate manager
• Working collaboratively with housekeeping, nursing, and care teams to support the comfort and wellbeing of residents
• Following all health and safety policies and procedures
