Job summary

RecruitNet International Ltd is seeking a dedicated Healthcare Assistant to support residents living with dementia in a Co Carlow nursing home. This permanent full-time role focuses on compassionate personal care, daily living activities, and safeguarding residents' wellbeing.

The ideal candidate will have QQI Level 5 in Healthcare (or in progress), fluent English, and is willing to obtain Garda Clearance and provide references. Excellent team collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

  • Compassionate, reliable and positive attitude toward elder care.
  • 1+ year’s experience in elder care ideal but not essential.
  • QQI Level 5 in Healthcare (completed or in progress).
  • Fluent English (spoken and written).
  • Ability to obtain Garda Clearance and provide references.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality personal care including mobility, dressing, bathing and toileting.
  • Support residents with meals, hydration and daily activities.
  • Offer companionship and emotional support to promote wellbeing and independence.
  • Monitor and record observations, reporting any changes to nursing staff.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider care team to maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.
  • Ensure accurate and confidential documentation of all care delivered.
