State Street Corporation’s Charles River Development (CRD) is hiring an AVP Team Lead for our Private Markets division in Europe. You will manage a small team of 4–8 full-stack engineers and collaborate with Product Development to deliver CRPM modules within an agile Scrum framework.

The role requires 7+ years in event-driven architectures, cloud-native development using Java/Spring and React or Angular, AWS and relational databases experience, and strong communication to drive complex solutions

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or related field; MS preferred.
• 7+ years in event-driven architectures; financial services a plus.
• Cloud-native development with Java, Spring, Angular or React.
• Experience with relational databases (RDBMS) and AWS.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of 4–8 engineers.
• Collaborate with BAs and PMs to design maintainable software solutions.
• Analyze, design, develop, test, and debug large enhancements across CRPM modules.
• Drive agile SCRUM ceremonies and contribute to backlog grooming and planning.
• Provide troubleshooting for mission-critical client implementations.

Summary

As an AVP Team Lead, you will be performing management duties of a small team as well as working closely with Product Development, where you will be responsible for defining, driving and delivering on specific aspects of the CRPM solution. Your team will consist of full stack engineers who will be working on the enhancement and maintenance of multiple Private Markets modules, as part of an agile scrum team.

Responsibilities

• Manage a small team consisting of about 4-8 people
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers to create simple and sustainable software solutions for complex problems
• Analyze, design, develop, test, and debug large and complex software enhancements and solutions within Charles River’s business and technical problem domains including modifications to core frameworks and other primary facilities critical to system operation
• Direct problem solving for projects or major phases of projects to resolve software technical issues
• Provide troubleshooting on large, mission critical client implementations
• Engage in the agile software development process by adhering to and advancing the CRD scrum methodology, including attending all daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives

Education Requirements

• B.S. degree Computer Science or other technical course of study required.
• MS degree preferred.

Key skills and prior experience

• 7+ years developing event driven architectures, financial services a plus
• Previous managerial experience managing teams
• Experience in cloud native development using Java, Spring, Angular or React
• Experience in developing observable, operable cloud native software that horizontally scales
• Experience with relational databases (RDBMS)
• Experience with AWS a plus
• Demonstrated problem solving abilities involving multi-tiered, high-performance database applications
• Demonstrated ability to design and develop software solutions to business and technical problems of high complexity
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Able to work well with peers in a collaborative team environment
