Job summary

Charles River Development (CRD), the FinTech division of State Street, is expanding its Private Market’s engineering team in Europe. You will be responsible for developing, enhancing and maintaining CRPM modules within an agile scrum environment, solving complex problems and delivering high-quality software.

The role requires strong problem solving abilities, experience with event-driven architectures, and proficiency with cloud-native Java stacks and modern front-end frameworks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor level degree in a technical field required or equivalent.
  • MS degree strongly preferred for advanced roles.
  • 1–3 years of experience in building event-driven architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, develop, test, and debug complex software enhancements.
  • Collaborate with engineers to deliver simple, scalable solutions.
  • Contribute code reviews and unit/automation tests.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies and maintain backlog grooming.
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide engineering guidance.

As a digital innovation leader, we invest into our solutions, processes, systems, and talent.We are actively hiring engineers for our Private Market’s division as this is an exciting time to join our innovative engineering teams as we are investing in growing out our European presence and leadership to help drive our next phase of growth.Summary:Act as Full Stack engineer responsible for the development, enhancement and maintenance of the CRPM modules and components, as part of an agile scrum team, and at times provide troubleshooting assistance to customer support teams.Responsibilities:Analyze, design, develop, test, and debug large and complex software enhancements and solutions critical to system operationCollaborate with engineering team to create simple and sustainable software solutions for complex problemsDirect problem solving for projects or major phases of projects to resolve software technical issuesProvide informed guidance and critical analysis of proposed changes during code reviewsWrite unit and automation tests to ensure a high-quality productEngage in the agile software development process by adhering to and advancing the CRD scrum methodology, including attending all daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectivesQualifications:Recommended Education:B.S. degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, and Physics or other technical course of study required. MS degree strongly preferred.Key skills and prior experience:Experience of 1-3 years developing event driven architectures, financial services a plusKnowledge in cloud native development using Java, Spring, Angular or ReactKnowledge with relational databases (RDBMS)Demonstrated problem solving abilities.Demonstrated ability to design and develop software solutions to business and technical problemsOutstanding written and verbal communication skillsAble to work well with peers in a collaborative team environmentKnowledge of Agile development methodologyAbout State StreetWhat we do.
