Job summary

CompuStaff is recruiting a Software Engineer on behalf of a leading global SaaS company with a Galway R&D centre. You will work on cloud-based products, platform evolution, and an AI-driven transformation, joining a collaborative team across PHP and C#/.NET.

The role focuses on backend and full-stack development, building scalable APIs, and contributing to modern PHP applications and .NET services, with opportunities to broaden technical range in a global environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years’ professional software development experience.
• Strong experience with PHP development, ideally modern PHP applications.
• Strong experience with C# and .NET, ideally .NET Core or .NET 6+.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Experience with SQL Server or other relational databases.
• Experience with Git and modern development workflows.
• Frontend experience with React, React Native, Angular, or similar.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and performance optimisation skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain software across PHP and C#/.NET applications.
• Develop and maintain scalable APIs and backend services.
• Work on modern PHP applications, ideally PHP 7 or later.
• Build and enhance C#/.NET services, ideally using .NET Core or .NET 6+.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, QA, and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality features.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code.
• Take part in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and improve application performance.
• Support the delivery of new features and enhancements across the product suite.
• Contribute to technical discussions around architecture, scalability, and platform improvement.
