Fruition Group Ireland is seeking a highly motivated backend-focused engineer in Dublin city centre to join an in-office role. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and web applications across the full stack, contributing to cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines.

You will collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, and product teams to deliver new features, optimise performance, and improve reliability.

Qualifications

• Backend development with RESTful APIs and modern web architecture.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (preferred), AWS or Azure.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and IaC.
• Ability to design, build, deploy, and support reliable software.
• Experience across frontend and backend technologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Our client is a well-capitalised, high-growth technology company building an advanced forecasting platform for the food processing sector.

This position is a full time, IN-OFFICE position in Dublin city centre.

This is an opportunity to work across the full software development lifecycle, building scalable applications, backend services, cloud infrastructure, and user-facing features that have a direct impact on customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Build modern web applications and contribute across the full technology stack.
• Develop and improve cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and engineering tooling.
• Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, and product teams to deliver new features and enhancements.
• Build reliable, secure, and maintainable applications capable of supporting a growing customer base.
• Optimise application performance, scalability, and system reliability.
• Contribute to technical architecture decisions and continuously improve engineering best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous integration and deployment activities.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of backend development, RESTful APIs, and modern web application architecture.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (preferred), AWS, or Azure, alongside relational databases and scalable application design.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, infrastructure automation, and version control within production environments.
• Ability to design, build, deploy, and support reliable software solutions, balancing technical quality with business priorities.
• Experience contributing across both frontend and backend technologies, with a willingness to work wherever adds the greatest value.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working alongside cross-functional engineering, product, or data teams.
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code, containerisation, observability, authentication, MLOps, or modern software engineering practices would be beneficial.
• Previous experience in a startup, scale-up, or product-focused technology environment is advantageous, but not essential.
