Job summary

C&D Foods Edgeworthstown is hiring a Forklift Operator - Cold Store to join the production team. The role operates on a continental shift pattern, 12-hour shifts rotating days and nights.

Key duties include feeding the pouch department, ensuring timely supply of materials, safely loading/unloading pallets, and maintaining accurate inventory. A valid Reach & Counterbalance licence and previous forklift experience in a production or warehouse setting are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Reach & Counterbalance licence and operate forklift safely in a production/warehouse setting.
• Experience with loading/unloading in a warehouse or production environment.
• Proven track record of safe forklift operation and adherence to safety standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable working in a cold manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and machinery.

Responsibilities

• Work to the production plan provided by the pouch department.
• Ensure timely supply of materials to the pouch area to maintain continuous production.
• Collect and return unused materials from the pouch area as needed.
• Safely store pallets produced during the shift on designated racks.
• Accurately scan materials to their locations to maintain inventory integrity.
• Load and offload frozen materials from trailers as required, following safety procedures.
• Operate the forklift safely in all site areas and perform pre-use checks.
• Report any safety or quality concerns to supervisor.
• Perform other duties as required.

At our C&D Foods site in Edgeworthstown, Co. Longford we have an opportunity for a Forklift Operator - Cold Store to work within the production team. This position operates on a continental shift pattern, working 12-hour shifts on a rotating basis:

• 6:00am to 6:00pm (Days)
• 6:00pm to 6:00am (Nights)

Key Responsilbitlites

• Work to the production plan provided by the pouch department


• Ensure timely supply of all required materials to the pouch area to maintain continuous production


• Collect and return any unused materials from the pouch area as needed.


• Safely store all plate-freezing pallets produced during the shift on designated racks.


• Accurately scan all materials to their correct locations to maintain inventory integrity.


• Load and offload frozen materials from trailers as required, ensuring compliance with safety and handling procedures


• Operate the forklift safely in all areas of the site, performing all required pre-use safety checks on the truck


• Highlight any safety concerns to your supervisor promptly and take appropriate action to prevent hazards


• Ensure any quality concerns or issues are identified and reported in a timely manner to maintain product standards.


• Any other duties as required

Personal Competencies & Qualifications

• Valid Reach & Counterbalance Licence with the ability to operate both safely and efficiently.


• Practical experience with rack loading and unloading in a warehouse or production environment


• Proven and consistent track record of safe forklift operation in a production or warehouse environment.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to cold, noise and machinery
