Job summary

Irish Country Meats, a division of ABP Foods Group, is seeking a Forklift Driver for Navan, Co. Meath. The role focuses on safe forklift operation, loading/unloading materials, and moving stock across production, storage and dispatch areas in a meat processing environment.

You will work to ensure food safety, quality, and health & safety standards are upheld, performing routine checks and maintaining an organised, clean workspace. Permanent positions, with part-time options considered.

Qualifications

  • Forklift licence/certification required.
  • Experience operating forklifts in manufacturing, warehouse, food production, or similar environment.
  • Strong awareness of health & safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts safely and efficiently at all times.
  • Load and unload raw materials, packaging, and other products.
  • Move stock between production, storage, and dispatch areas.
  • Carry out stock checks and support inventory control activities.
  • Ensure products are handled in accordance with food safety and quality procedures.
  • Perform daily equipment checks and report any defects.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area.
  • Follow all health & safety, food safety, and hygiene requirements.
  • Assist with general warehouse and dispatch duties as required.

The Role

The Forklift Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts and other material handling equipment within ICM. The role involves loading and unloading vehicles, transporting products and packaging materials, and ensuring goods are moved and stored correctly while maintaining food safety, quality, and health & safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts safely and efficiently at all times.

The Candidate:

  • The ideal candidate will:
  • Hold a valid forklift licence/certification.
  • Have previous experience operating forklifts in a manufacturing, warehouse, food production, or similar environment.
  • Demonstrate strong awareness of health & safety practices.
  • Be reliable, punctual, and flexible with working hours.
  • Have good attention to detail and accuracy when handling stock.
  • Be capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Possess good communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Be physically fit and comfortable working in a fast-paced meat processing environment.
  • Show a commitment to food safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • A good knowledge of the English language is preferable.

Previous experience in a meat processing or food production facility.

Experience using warehouse management or stock control systems.

Knowledge of dispatch, receiving, and inventory procedures.

Full-Time / or Part-Time considered.
